Pelican is a 1990 22' C-Dory Cruiser, purchased in February 2001 from the family of the original owner.  She was originally named "Patti B." and is equipped with a 1996 75hp Honda 4 stroke outboard engine.  Additionally, she came with a bimini and full canvas camper enclosure as well as a full window covering treatment to protect the interior from the harsh Florida sun.
 
  

The Patti B. on her last voyage down the Florida Intracoastal Waterway, participating in the Coral Ridge Sail and Power Squadron's 2001 Fleet Review.  On board were family members of P/C Donald Barnes, the original owner. Pelican participated in the 2002 Coral Ridge Power Squadron's Fleet Review with Ken Kistner as the captain and Kenny and Megan Kistner as crew.

Following a month of modifications Pelican was launched on St. Pat's Day, 2001 and work continues to get her outfitted to my specifications.  Upgrades in progress include dual batteries and a Perko battery switch, self-launching anchor roller and Horizon windlass along with a Fortress FX-11 anchor and an anchor rode consisting of 20' of chain and 230' of 1/2" line, installation of Garmin chartplotter, Horizon Intrepid DCS VHF radio, AM/FM radio with CD player, 30 amp shore power and DC/AC inverter, and hookup from the GPS to my computerized charting program.  In the future I might add the dual built-in gas tanks as now supplied by the factory as well as turn the port lazarette into a live-well.  Rod holders as well as a pair of outrigger holders will be installed soon.
